Actually iMac internally uses Seagate hard drive which is facing some issues last year as well in some of the conditions.So Apple announced that those who face these kind of issues for Seagate have an option to replace with new Hard drive.Apple recently extended the date for replacement for this hard drives for iMac sold inbetween October 2009 and July 2011.
As per the report published in the Apple official website www.apple.com the iMac comes with range of 21.5-inch also 27-inch iMac sold along with 1TB Seagate hard drive,if these hard drive faced any issue can replace with Apple authorized service centre for the free of cost.Also one of the notable thing is not required to bring the affected iMac to the Apple store instead just can Apple service centre and AppleCare representatives will come and check at the door step or office.So this is really good option given by Apple.
